PEDAGOGICAL MODEL

The programme places a strong emphasis on experiential learning. Accordingly, teaching and learning are structured around discussions and group work, roleplays, theoretical lectures, multimedia presentations, group dynamics and interactive exercises.

ASSESSMENT MODEL

The assessment takes place in two stages: at the end of the Bootcamp and at the conclusion of the Postgraduate Programme, in accordance with the criteria detailed below.

  • BOOTCAMP

Each of the five assessment criteria accounts for 20% of the final Bootcamp grade.

PARTICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE (INCLUDING CDP)
Participants will be observed and assessed throughout discussions and group exercises. Attendance and punctuality will also be taken into consideration. During the Bootcamp, absences without medical justification are not permitted and will result in a score of zero for this component.

PERSONAL REFLECTION REPORTS
At the end of the Bootcamp, participants are required to submit a personal reflection report describing the personal and professional impact of the knowledge acquired.

THEORETICAL EXAMINATION
Following the Bootcamp classes, participants must complete an online multiple-choice test consisting of 10 questions.

VIDEO ASSESSMENT
On the final day of the Bootcamp, participants will act as mediators in a recorded mediation session. An external examiner, who is a member of the ICFML Accreditation Committee, will review the video and evaluate it based on the established criteria for each stage of the mediation process. Participants who achieve a positive evaluation in this component will be awarded the ICFML Certified Mediator accreditation.

SCIENTIFIC PAPER
Participants must prepare a scientific paper on a topic related to conflict mediation. This paper, between 10 and 20 pages in length, must be submitted by 15 May.

  • POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME

The final assessment of the Postgraduate Programme (after the Bootcamp) comprises the following components:

FIELD PROJECT OR EMPIRICAL STUDY
After completing the taught component of the programme (ending in July), participants must conduct either a field project promoting mediation or an empirical statistical study on the application of mediation. The project will be presented orally in September, and a written report containing the final results must be submitted by 31 October. The presentation and written report together account for 60% of the final grade.

PERSONAL REFLECTION REPORTS
Throughout the taught component of the programme, participants must submit two additional reflection reports (the first in April and the second in July). The average grade for these reports contributes 20% towards the final mark.

PARTICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE

From February to July, participants may not exceed six hours of unjustified absences. This component carries a weighting of 20% towards the final grade.

CERTIFICATION AND ACCREDITATION

The Postgraduate Programme awards 17 ECTS credits.

Participants who attend at least 75% of classes but do not complete the assessment process will be issued a Certificate of Attendance for the Postgraduate Programme.
