Master’s in Law

In the Master’s in Labour Law, I had the opportunity to study areas with which I had never previously had any contact — areas that have proved extremely valuable in my professional life. I also feel that I now have far more advanced and in-depth preparation in these subjects than those who did not pursue this specialisation, allowing me to set myself apart in the workplace.

I also found that the curricular units in the Master’s in Labour Law have a strong practical component, providing me with the tools necessary to address the issues I encounter daily.

Master’s in Law

The Master’s is a doorway that allows us to explore the subjects that captivated us most during our undergraduate degree. It is not merely about selecting an area or specialisation — it is the feeling that we can make a difference in a field we are truly passionate about.

At Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, we can do so with the support of brilliant professors, who guided us throughout the entire journey while constantly sharpening our critical thinking. You will feel challenged and put to the test every day, and by the end, you will be prepared for the personal and professional challenges ahead. Use the Master’s not only to become a better professional but also a person more connected to the world and to others.

Master’s in Law

The idea of pursuing a Master’s in Law without a specialisation emerged immediately after completing my undergraduate degree at Universidade Católica do Porto. However, I chose to undertake the Master’s only after joining the Portuguese Bar Association, as both the degree and the traineeship had left some practical gaps that I gradually identified as I entered professional practice.

This decision proved invaluable. The Master’s in Law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa allows students to choose curricular units from different areas, offering considerable flexibility and enabling them to strengthen or acquire essential competences for practising law. The academic staff are always available to support students, adding purpose and value to both teaching and learning.

Choosing to pursue the Master’s in Law without a specialisation — an option available exclusively at this university — was one of the best decisions of my academic path.
