The Advanced Programme in Business Restructuring and Recovery is a multidisciplinary course focused on the areas of corporate, tax and financial law. It aims to provide an in-depth, practical and cross-cutting understanding of the legal, financial and accounting issues that arise in business activity.

The faculty brings together distinguished university professors, as well as highly regarded lawyers and consultants with extensive professional experience, ensuring both a solid theoretical and scientific foundation and a dynamic learning environment that promotes knowledge sharing and the discussion of practical case studies aimed at identifying effective solutions to the recurring challenges in this field.

This course seeks to equip participants with a comprehensive theoretical and practical perspective of the topics covered, enabling them to intervene more effectively and accurately in solving financial issues within the corporate sphere, often intersecting with matters of tax law.

Target Audience

This programme is designed for executives from all types of companies, particularly board members and financial directors, as well as insolvency practitioners, lawyers, judges and consultants working in the economic and financial sectors.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law or in another relevant field, provided that the candidate’s professional experience allows and justifies specialisation in these areas.

  • Alumni of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral programmes);
  • Former students who have completed a degree-granting programme (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral), or another course with more than 200 hours (such as an MBA, General Management Programme, or other Postgraduate Courses) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa;
  • Lawyers and trainee lawyers registered with the Regional Bar Councils of Porto and Madeira.

Diploma and Certification

Participants who attend at least 75% of the sessions will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.
