In today’s challenging and constantly evolving context, the ability to understand the complexity and dynamism of reality requires a multidisciplinary approach. The Master’s Programme in Law and Management responds directly to this market need by offering a unique opportunity to train professionals with solid knowledge in both fields.
The programme aims to prepare professionals capable of addressing the needs of organisations from a global perspective, equipping them not only to identify and propose solutions to organisational issues but also to make decisions and implement them effectively.
It has been designed for professionals whose work is connected to companies or other organisations, as well as for those who intend to pursue (or already pursue) careers in business law practice or corporate consultancy, and naturally for in-house counsel.
Alongside advanced legal training in the business context, the Master’s in Law and Management also develops essential skills related to the understanding of companies, their external environment and some of the main areas of management, including corporate finance, strategy, marketing and human resources management. The result is professionals well prepared to address a wide range of challenges effectively. The Master’s in Law and Management benefits from a highly qualified faculty, bringing together specialists from different fields from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and other leading universities, selected both for their technical expertise and their strong teaching abilities.
Delivered in an after-work schedule, the programme is characterised by the diversity of its modules and topics, reflecting a continuous effort to update its academic offering in response to emerging challenges and new areas of law. These objectives are supported by the School’s own faculty of recognised excellence, as well as by the collaboration of other academics and professionals of outstanding merit.
In line with current developments in the legal field, the School of Law is also committed to strengthening its offer of interdisciplinary courses and seminars, as well as enhancing its international dimension, both in teaching and through the provision of training internships.
This Master’s programme comprises 90 ECTS credits, of which 60 ECTS correspond to the taught phase, delivered over two semesters, and 30 ECTS to the dissertation, corresponding to one semester.
Yearbook
In order to give visibility to the results of academic research, the School has decided to publish the Master’s dissertations that receive the highest grades.
Each year, the best Master’s dissertations will therefore be published in a digital Yearbook, which can be accessed free of charge.
This initiative allows high-quality research to be shared with the wider academic and legal community, as well as with civil society, while also encouraging excellence in the research carried out by students in the Law and Law and Management Master’s programmes.
