The International Law Programme is a one-semester track (30 ECTS) integrated into the Undergraduate Degree in Law. It comprises curricular units taught entirely in English and focusing on themes within International and European Law.
The programme is open to visiting students from partner universities of the Porto Faculty of Law, as well as to our own students who wish to undertake part of their degree in English. Successful completion of the programme is recorded in the student's Diploma Supplement, providing added value for international academic and professional pathways.
The curricular units included in the programme are:
In addition, completion of the programme requires one further curricular unit or seminar taught in English, namely:
The Porto Faculty of Law is strongly committed to offering its students a comprehensive and globally oriented legal education, enriched by national and international mobility opportunities, whether through study periods or internships at partner universities. Agreements with nearly 60 universities in Europe and beyond ensure more than 110 mobility placements each year.
Any undergraduate student who meets the regulatory requirements may apply for a mobility semester abroad, and the School actively encourages such participation. Our commitment includes academic recognition of completed coursework (through credit transfer and equivalences) and, in certain cases, a reduction in tuition fees during the mobility period.
All students enrolled in the first cycle may apply to the following mobility programmes:
International mobility for study and/or internship within the European area, with the possibility of receiving an Erasmus grant.
International mobility outside Europe, worldwide, through cooperation agreements established with the School of Law.
National mobility between the Porto and Lisbon Schools of the Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
