Mission, Vision and Values

Mission

  • To promote the integral development of each individual; 
  • To educate jurists with a high level of professionalism, competence, and critical thinking; 
  • To form autonomous, responsible, and compassionate citizens, culturally enriched and guided by a strong ethical sense; 
  • To foster legal research, contributing to a critical and responsible advancement of legal science. 

Vision

The Porto Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa aims to be recognised: 

  • As the best Faculty of Law in Portugal for learning and teaching; 
  • For providing rigorous, demanding, and high-quality education, investing in the holistic development of its professors, researchers, and students; 
  • For conducting high-level research in the field of law; 
  • For promoting partnerships and the sharing of experiences and projects with leading universities worldwide, as well as encouraging academic exchange among professors and students; 
  • As an institution committed to community service, attentive to the personal development of all its members; 
  • For playing an active role in the social, economic, and cultural development of both the Northern Region and Portugal as a whole.
