The success of our students is a central priority for the School. Each academic year, several programmes are offered with the aim of promoting strong academic performance.
All programmes are optional and involve no additional cost for students.
This programme is designed for all students wishing to adapt and refine their study methods to meet the demands of the Law degree.
Through individual and personalised support, the aim is to help students make the most of their personal resources and develop an effective study method tailored to their own needs.
The programme focuses on three key questions: “where to study”, “what to study” and “how to study”.

Taking part in the GPS programme helped me understand how to structure my study plan. My grades improved significantly from the first semester (the adjustment period) to the second.
Inês Santos Silva, student
To be honest, when it came to studying and assessments, I thought it would be easier. I had to adjust my study method, and I am still improving it. In this process, the GPS programme has been essential.
Guilherme Marques e Silva, student
Every student has the opportunity to receive continuous guidance from an academic tutor specifically appointed for this purpose. Tutors follow the student’s academic progression, providing support in setting goals, planning study routines, monitoring ongoing assessment, and selecting curricular units.
Tutors also identify and help address transversal difficulties, for example, the logic and methodology for solving practical case studies.
It is important to note that specific questions about individual curricular units must always be addressed to the respective Professor, not to the tutor.

Written and oral expression are key factors in the academic success of Law students, as well as essential skills for their future professional practice.
To support this development, the Porto Faculty of Law offers undergraduate students assistance in both written expression (e.g., written assignments) and oral expression (e.g., presentations).
Support in drafting written assignments, focusing on formal accuracy and the structure of written legal discourse.
