Ana Maria Maia Gonçalves - Coordinator
Co-designs and co-leads development processes and learning solutions for a diverse range of clients, integrating multiple roles such as consultant, conflict resolution specialist, facilitator, and coach. Drawing on her extensive background as a highly successful business leader in the international corporate world, Ana’s style is direct, honest, practical, insightful, and deeply positive.
In her executive coaching and mediation work, she adopts a multidisciplinary approach that combines her expertise in coaching, mediation, and business with the latest research in applied positive psychology and neuroscience. Ana is the founder of ICFML – Instituto de Certificação e Formação de Mediadores Lusófonos, having established the organisation as a leader in mediation certification across Portuguese-speaking countries.
In recent years, her work has focused on the impact of online technology on the skills of facilitators and ADR neutrals. She has lectured widely on this topic and co-developed the ODR Foundations Training (https://odrfoundationstraining.com/). Her most recent project is the Universal Disclosure Protocol for Mediation (UDPM) (www.udpm.org).
Ana also emphasises the importance of integrating conflict resolution skills within younger generations and therefore teaches negotiation and mediation at universities around the world.
Nuno Albuquerque
Lawyer and founding partner of N-ADVOGADOS. Holds a Law degree from the University of Coimbra (1988) and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). He completed the ICC Institute Masterclass for Arbitrators (2014) and postgraduate studies at NOVA School of Law (Lisbon, 2012), including the Intensive Arbitration Training Course promoted by the Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (March 2013).
He is a certified mediator by ICFML – Instituto de Certificação e Formação de Mediadores Lusófonos and is admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association (1990), the Angolan Bar Association (2008), and the Paris Bar Association (2014). His professional practice focuses on Commercial Law, Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring, and Sports Law.
Cátia Marques Cebola
Holds a Law degree and Master’s from the University of Coimbra and a PhD from the University of Salamanca, with the thesis “La Mediación: un nuevo instrumento de la Administración de la Justicia para la solución de conflictos”, which received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award.
She attended the Mediation Program at Harvard Law School and is the author of several articles and books specialising in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Cátia is the International President of ICFML – Instituto de Certificação e Formação de Mediadores Lusófonos, a Professor at the Polytechnic of Leiria, and a researcher at the Leiria branch of Instituto Jurídico Portucalense, which she coordinated between 2018 and 2022.
