Cátia Sofia Marques Cebola is a Professor at Politécnico de Leiria and a researcher at the Leiria branch of Instituto Jurídico Portucalense. She collaborates with Porto Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa within the framework of the Postgraduate Programme in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Law from Universidade de Coimbra and a PhD in Law from Universidad de Salamanca, having defended the doctoral thesis La Mediación: un nuevo instrumento de la Administración de la Justicia para la solución de conflictos, which was awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize. She completed the Mediation Course at Harvard Law School.
She is the author of several scholarly articles and books in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. She serves as Pedagogical Coordinator and is a member of the International Board of the Instituto de Certificação e Formação de Mediadores Lusófonos (ICFML).
