The Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University – Porto School is organising a conference entitled “Fundamental Concepts of Law: Legal Expectation” on 17 and 18 September 2026.
 
This initiative forms part of a series dedicated to the study of fundamental and cross-cutting concepts in law, with the aim of analysing them in depth from multiple perspectives, both legal and non-legal.
 
The call for papers is open until 21 June 2026, covering a range of fields including philosophy and legal theory, public and private law, legal history, comparative law and economic analysis of law. Proposals may be submitted in Portuguese or English, and early-career researchers are particularly encouraged to participate.
 
A collective volume based on the selected papers is planned for publication, subject to peer review. The authors of accepted proposals will be informed in due course of the deadlines and submission requirements.
