Learning outcomes of the curricular unit
In this seminar, the main contributions of psychological knowledge to the promotion of human rights and peace will be addressed. The objective of psychology is the promotion of human well-being; warfare and terrorism are examples of human behaviors with dramatic consequences. The Preamble of the UNESCO Constitution tells us that "since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed." Therefore, psychology, as the science of the mind, plays a fundamental role in preventing the phenomena of violence and promoting a more just and peaceful society.
