We are living longer, but are we prepared for an increasingly long-lived society?
This webinar is being held as part of the Postgraduate Programme in the Law of Older People and aims to facilitate an interdisciplinary discussion on the challenges and opportunities associated with ageing, bringing together different perspectives on health, independence, quality of life, ageing in place and the rights of older people.
Throughout the session, three experts will reflect on how longevity is transforming society and on the role of the law in developing solutions that promote longer, independent and dignified lives:
- Joana Silva Aroso – Lawyer and coordinating partner of the Longevity+ Desk and the Public Law and Environment, Energy and Natural Resources practice groups at JPAB – José Pedro Aguiar-Branco Advogados.
- Paulo Alves – PhD in Nursing, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing at the Portuguese Catholic University, Director of the School of Nursing at the Portuguese Catholic University
- António Fonseca – Lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Portuguese Catholic University, specialising in the psychology of ageing.
A discussion to consider ageing not merely as a stage of life, but as a collective challenge for the present and the future.
