Culture, relationships and context in conflict management
Not all conflicts can be understood solely on the basis of what the parties say or claim. Cultural differences, values, social and organisational contexts, power relations and other factors can influence the way each person interprets a situation and reacts to conflict.
How can we identify what lies beyond the visible positions and understand the factors that truly influence a conflict?
On 19 October, we invite you to a discussion on the importance of analysing conflict from a broad perspective, taking into account not only the issues raised by the parties, but also the context, the relationships and the various actors involved.
The session will be led by Lurdes Serra.
The webinar will also provide an opportunity to learn about the 16th edition of the Postgraduate Course in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, run as part of a partnership between the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University and the ICFML.
