1st Edition | In-person and Online Teaching

This is the first postgraduate programme of its kind in the field of insolvency to be offered in the North of Portugal.

The Postgraduate Programme in Insolvency and Restructuring Law provides an in-depth study of the fundamental topics of insolvency, pre-insolvency, and corporate restructuring, with a strong focus on the practical resolution of issues faced by judges, lawyers, insolvency administrators, and other professionals working in this area.

The teaching staff is composed of the country’s leading experts in the field - all holding doctoral degrees and teaching at differnt Portuguese Faculties of Law.

Objectives

The programme aims to provide an integrated perspective and comprehensive understanding of the core areas of Insolvency Law, combining both traditional and contemporary approaches and maintaining a close connection with corporate legal practice.

Participants are expected to acquire the skills required to address complex issues arising in their professional practice and/or to pursue further academic studies in related areas of Law covered by the programme.

Successful completion of the course, including compliance with attendance requirements and a positive final evaluation, confers 9 ECTS credits.

Target Audience

This programme is intended for judges, lawyers, insolvency administrators, and legal professionals who work, or wish to work, within the corporate and business sectors.

Teaching Method

The programme will be delivered in both in-person and online formats, with sessions held on Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

The online format will only be available to participants residing more than 200 kilometres from the city of Porto.
