Learning outcomes of the curricular unit
Study of Copyright and Related Rights in national legislation, in the light of International Treaties and European Union Law. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, we will start by integrating copyright and related rights in the general framework of Intellectual Property. This will be followed by an analysis of the origin and the various systems of copyright and related rights. We will then refer to the main international treaties in this area and the role of the European Union in the progressive standardisation of national copyright and related rights. We propose a critical analysis of court rulings and formulating problem approach proposals. The method allows de develompent of analysis skills, refection, dialog and formulation of proposals. Along with the general concepts, this year we´ll focus on the relation between Copyright and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI).
