5 and 6 November 2026
Carvalho Guerra Auditorium | Portuguese Catholic University – Porto
About the Event
Marking 40 years of European integration, this conference aims to foster a debate on the European framework for preventing and combating violence against women, analysing developments from the Istanbul Convention to the most recent European Directive.
Over the course of two days, topics such as cyberviolence – specifically, the non-consensual sharing of intimate material, cyberstalking and online hate speech – will be discussed, alongside victim protection, precautionary and police measures, and the urgent removal of content. The conference brings together researchers, magistrates, lawyers and law enforcement officers, amongst others, to reflect on the legal framework and its practical application.
Participation in the event requires registration, which is free if you do not request a certificate, and costs €5 if you choose to receive one.
