Learning outcomes of the curricular unit

The course aims to develop skills in order to enable: 

  • The promotion of people's engagement and alignment around organizational strategies to ensure effectiveness and quality and promote the workers' well-being. 
  • The identification of the managers’ role in motivating and developing their employees. 
  • The analysis of People Management (PM) practices in the organizations and the definition of criteria and procedures for their correct implementation. 
  • The development of attitudes that value the contextualization of the investigation and the interventions in PM in order to promote their adequacy to the field's specificities. 
  • Critically analyse the conceptions and practices of the students in order to identify strategies for improvement.

- People Management: organization, dynamics and trends
- Recruitment, selection, onboarding and socialization of newcomers
- Performance management and compensation systems
- Analysis and transformation of working conditions to promote security and well-being
- Training and development: needs analysis and programs' design, implementation and evaluation
- Leadership: concept, problems and approaches
- Conducting processes of social alignment
- Influence in transactional and transformational leadership 
- Conduction of reflection and learning processes in teams
- Negotiation and conflict management
- Conducting change processes in an organizational context
- Competence cores and emotional intelligence in leadership
