The Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law (CEID) and the Faculty of Law – Porto School of the Portuguese Catholic University are joining forces to publicise the Labour2030 Call for Papers, inviting students, researchers and lecturers to share ideas and research projects on the transformations in the world of work. The deadline for submitting proposals for papers is 15 January 2027.
On 16 and 17 September 2027, the 4th edition of Labour2030 will once again bring together experts, professionals and leaders from around the world for two days of international debate on the future of work.
The event will take place at the Super Bock Arena, one of Porto’s most iconic venues, bringing together an international community to exchange ideas, share knowledge and explore the challenges shaping the future of work.
Join us. The debate begins here. We look forward to seeing you in Porto.
Submission of proposals
The Call for Papers is an opportunity to showcase original work, share research findings and contribute to the debate on key themes, namely:
- Artificial intelligence and the future of work: how are technology and algorithms transforming work, and what challenges do they pose to privacy, equality and workers’ rights?
- Mental health, wellbeing and the right to disconnect: how can we promote healthy working environments and a better work-life balance?
- Sustainability and a just transition: how can we reconcile economic and environmental transformations with the inclusion and protection of people?
- Collective bargaining and new forms of mobilisation: how are workers’ representation and participation evolving in a changing world of work?
We welcome contributions that bring together different perspectives and fields of knowledge, linking academic reflection with the practical challenges of the world of work.
This call is also open to Master’s and PhD students who wish to share and discuss their research in an international context.
The conference will feature simultaneous interpretation in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and the best papers will subsequently be selected for publication.
