Learning outcomes of the curricular unit

The ‘Financial Markets’ course intends to provide a comprehensive view of the monetary and financial system, focusing on its role in the process of financial resources allocation and its tender for economic efficiency and welfare. At the end of the course, students should be able to: (i) understand the main institutional features of the financial system; (ii) understand how the financial sector is connected to other sectors of the economy; (iii) characterize and master some fundamental techniques of fixed income financial assets’ valuation; (iv) understand the fundamental drivers of interest rates; and (v) to comprehend the role assigned to financial system regulation tools.
