Learning outcomes of the curricular unit

Knowledge of crimes aimed at protecting the property. It is intended that students are aware of the solutions of current Criminal Code as well the most relevant jurisprudence on the subject. So it is intended not only knowledge of the various crimes but rather the recognition of singularity and deficiencies in current Law and the need to update.

Syllabus

The crimes against property. Classification and distinctive criteria. The basic crimes: a) against property: theft, abuse of confidence and misappropriation. Derivatives crimes: Robbery and fraud in other areas, b) against patrimony: fraud, extortion, usury; other derivations, like the crime of infidelity. c) other crimes: dammages etc . Critical analysis of the portuguese system: a) gaps of punishment b) anachronistic conception of property and patrimony.
