To provide students with an active learning context on the essential elements of cybercrime, characterization and relevance of digital evidence and how it is obtained, as well as the most important national, European and international legislative instruments in this field.

Syllabus

1. Introduction to the concept and characteristics of cybercrime;
2. Cybercrime and organized, complex and transnational crime;
3. Cybercrime and its expression in the Portuguese, European and international legal landscape;
4. Concept and relevance of the digital evidence;
5. Means of obtaining digital evidence;
6. Interinstitutional and international cooperation in judicial and police matters and emerging issue.
