Learn and reflect on the phenomenon of corruption and crimes committed in the exercise of public functions under the Portuguese Penal Law. A legal and systematical integrated vision of the disciplinary system of corruption. Analysis of case law and about new modes of crime investigation.

Syllabus

Corruption: concept, specifical characteristics of the crime; the crime of receiving undue benefits. Other crimes: economic participation in business; abuse of power, influence trafficking, violation of urbanism rules; public procurement and fraud related to bribery; Other corruptions: voter corruption, in sport and in the private sector.Public Agents: public servants for purposes of criminal law, holders of an political office: their organic/integration status; the system of punishment: criminal penalties, the disciplinary status of public agents and office holders; criminal profits, confiscation.
