Research topics

The aim of this branch is to promote the study of Business Law from an integrated perspective. This is why the associated research group brings together highly reputed researchers in the areas of commercial law, contract law and tax law.

The research group will develop its work mainly around three main themes: i) productive organizations and their typical legal structure; ii) the instruments (contractual and non-contractual) used by these productive organizations in their activity; and iii) the tax impact of these activities. The themes will be worked on not only from an applied perspective, but also with a view to promoting the results of fundamental of the research will be the enhancement of the private autonomy of the person in need of special protection. In fact, the main concern of contemporary Portuguese Law seems to be the protection of assets, often imposing solutions whose imperative nature can and should be questioned.
