Clínica Juridica do Porto - CJP

1. Who can apply?

  • Undergraduate Law students who have completed at least 180 of the 240 ECTS credits required to finish the first cycle of studies;
  • Master’s in Law students, provided they already hold a Law degree.

2. What kind of activities can students take part in?

Students may engage in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Training and information initiatives, such as presentations, seminars, workshops, conferences, and simulations, aligned with the CJP’s objectives;
     
  • Preparation of legal documents, such as concise written legal opinions, reports, and informative guides on rights and obligations;
     
  • Development of training materials supporting the learning and teaching of clinical legal education methodology;
     
  • Participation in international human rights organisations or in forums relevant to the CJP’s mission;
     
  • Any other activities that contribute to the goals and objectives of the Porto Legal Clinic.

3. Who supervises the students at the CJP?

Student supervision is provided by tutors, who may be faculty members of the Porto Faculty of Law or legal professionals collaborating with the CJP.

Their role is to ensure effective guidance for students and the quality of all activities undertaken.

4. What are the students’ responsibilities?

Selected students are expected to:

  • Attend all preparatory sessions;
  • Follow the guidance and instructions of their tutors;
  • Respect confidentiality in all matters;
  • Refrain from recommending specific professionals;
  • And comply fully with the ethical standards governing the CJP’s activities.

5. Application deadlines

Applications for the CJP take place annually. All students are notified in advance by email. Please make sure to submit your application within the stipulated deadline.
