Welcome Week: “Conhecer os cantos à Casa”

Monday, September 21, 2026 - 11:13

A new chapter began for the students who joined the Faculty of Law - Porto School this year. Over three days, from 14 to 16 September, the Welcome Week invited them to discover every corner of their new home, through a journey of spaces, people and experiences that will accompany them throughout this new stage.

“I felt that the welcome programme was very helpful in helping me settle in,” said Luísa Castro, a Law student. “On the one hand, I was able to get to know the different student groups; on the other, the courses were introduced very clearly. Activities such as volunteering were also presented, which I personally consider very relevant,” she added.

Alongside their first classes in Introduction to Public Law, Introduction to the Study of Law and Introduction to Private Law, the new students were introduced to ADN Jurista and UDIP, as well as the Students’ Association, the Veterans’ Council, ELSA – The European Law Students’ Association, the Mentoring Programme and the Debate Society. Among the activities, International Life@Católica, in collaboration with HeForShe, stood out with “The Game of Life”, an activity designed to encourage reflection on possible life paths and equal opportunities.

Guided tours of the Campus, the student societies showcase, performances by the university tuna groups and surfing lessons rounded off the three days, giving the new students the opportunity to discover the many corners of their new second home.
