On 3 June 2026, the Porto Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa welcomed a delegation from Université Catholique de Lille at the Foz Campus, as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening international relations and identifying new opportunities for academic cooperation.

The delegation was received by the Dean of the Porto Faculty of Law, Professor Marta Portocarrero, Professor Pedro Freitas, Internationalisation Coordinator, Professor José Alberto Azeredo Lopes, Coordinator of the International Studies Programme, a Master’s degree in Law entirely taught in English, and Professor Maria Isabel Tavares, a member of the teaching staff of the same programme.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reinforce the institutional dialogue between the two universities and to identify potential areas of cooperation, particularly in international academic mobility and within the scope of the International Studies Programme. Discussions also covered future collaboration aimed at enhancing the international dimension of legal education and creating academic opportunities for students to engage with different legal traditions, university environments and contemporary approaches to the study of law.

This meeting forms part of the School’s internationalisation strategy, which has focused on consolidating a network of partner institutions of recognised merit and promoting opportunities for education, mobility and academic cooperation. Through this strategy, the School seeks to offer students an increasingly international and intellectually demanding academic experience, aligned with the contemporary challenges of legal education and legal practice.
