The Porto Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa is pleased to announce that its alumnus, Paulo Emanuel Teixeira Abreu da Costa, has been elected Vice-President of the Porto Court of Appeal (Tribunal da Relação do Porto).

Paulo Emanuel Teixeira Abreu da Costa joined the judiciary in 1995 and has served as an Appellate Judge (Juiz Desembargador) at the Porto Court of Appeal since 2018. The election to the position of Vice-President took place on 26 November 2025, with 82 votes in favour out of the 91 judges who took part in the ballot. The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Salão Nobre of the Porto Court of Appeal on 16 January.
